In need of recommendation for a good IEM
Yeah, it takes a few weeks but they are great and if they don't fit perfectly, they will fix them. You can watch videos online of how they make them. I can't remeber who does the videos, JH Audio, Ultimate Ears or Westone.- cadamwil

Best under $600 gaming headphones?
My plan is DT880 Pro's and the modmic. If I get the headphones from Amazon they are $270 and the mic is another $50. That is the diminishing return point for me at this time. Any more and I would have to step up to $400 for headphones or $500. And the next step past that price range that I think...- cadamwil

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
I think USB is the best as the E17 becomes the sound card, where hooking up via optical or coax means something inside the pc is the sound card. In general, the e17 will do a higher sampling rate than most PC sound cards. But it is possible that the difference would be essentially non-existent.- cadamwil

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
I really love my HD598s, they sound great and I love vocals on them. They are at the perfect level without being too much when listening to someone like Carrie Underwood. My only complaint is bass. I understand that great bass and open is difficult, but I am in search of the goldilocks...- cadamwil

What headphones for my use?
I really recommend people check out the test graph's over at headphone.org. Although, some things to note, closed headphones have better bass, all things being equal. They can more easily build more pressure. I am going with DT880s because I like the sound of my HD598s, because they graph...- cadamwil

Sennheiser HD598's Sound Quality
This may be a stupid question, but have you burned them in? Just set some music to play for a good long while and leave them for a day. See if they don't sound better. I own the HD598's and they sound great to me, except for the general lack of bass. Great soundstage, not too tinny, very...- cadamwil

In need of recommendation for a good IEM
You might look at Custom IEMs for that price range. I have a pair of JH Audio's JH11, I really like them. You can get a set of JH5s for that price. You will need a molding of your ears, but those can be obtained for $50. Just an idea. I really like mine for sound isolation and nice clean...- cadamwil

DT990 or v-moda crossfade m-100
I found the v-moda crossfades to be a bit loose and overly emphasizing bass. I would look at headphone.com's build a graph for headphones. I really like how the DT880s look compared to my HD598s, which I like, but I feel they need more bass. Check out the tool, especially if you know a...- cadamwil

Fiio DAC vs Sound Card for audio PC
For my $.02 the E17 is a great solution. I find that it is quite when sound is not playing and clean when it is. Further, you get an amp for bigger than normal headphones, but not the thirstier headphones. I like the E17 because it doesn't break the bank, docks with a bigger desktop amp and...- cadamwil

IEM inline mic cable (preferably android) recommendations?
If you find it, let me know. I have started using the TouchMic Handsfree Lapel Microphone. It is pretty good. I am not in love. If it hadn't used my previous shure one before it died, I would love it. It sounds pretty good, but the shure, when you hold it so that the wire works, sounds...- cadamwil

Best under $600 gaming headphones?
I would buy a really nice set of regular headphones and then add something like a modmic.com mic. Sure, you have two cords, but then you can use whatever headphones you like and if you don't need the mic, you can remove the mic. Here's Tek Syndicate's take, which I agree with. Adam- cadamwil

2.0/2.1 Speakers to replace 5.1 Logitech 5300's
For what it's worth, I own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's from several years ago. They are still going strong and are a great sounding set. I am not as impressed with the harmon kardon soundsticks, but I don't like the look of them either and that could be influencing my opinion in some way. The...- cadamwil
