I got some comply tips this morning by special delivery from hifiheadphones. Couldn't be happier. Isolation greatly improved, comfort issue solved. They're now supported by the tips in my ear canals, as they should be, rather than by the bodies in my external ear. The only other IEMs I have...

I've gone ahead and ordered a pack of t-400s which should be here tomorrow morning, really hope they sort out the comfort issue (I actually haven't had any problems with isolation or seal, but thanks for the interesting tips on improving those...!!). I'll let you know how if that works out...

Thanks JW, that's very reassuring. I'll see if I can get my hands on a pair of t400s and see what they're like, I really want these to work out! Did you feel they improved the isolation as well?

Cable on the IE8 is amazing, light and flexible with no microphonics, and user replaceable. I've never heard the w3s, but the bass on the IE8 sounds pretty damn good, and the soundstage is lifechanging.

It's an interesting idea, though I'm not sure it's actually the tips that are hurting my ear as much as the corner of the actual driver body. Digs into the cartilage at the top of my tragus. It's very strange, I put them in and don't know they're there, super comfortable for about 5 minutes...
