Wow! Just received samples from TI.com
Free samples?! How? I'm about to build a PIMETA and could save quite a bit with some free BUF634s- bumf

getting audio INTO the 0404 - running into a few problems
Open patchmix DSP and you should see two strips for your inputs from the audigy. There's a little pan control about half-way up that defaults to the middle.- bumf

Cerafine vs. Muse vs. Panasonic FC?
How about Rubycon ZA/ZL? I pulled some of these off an old motherboard. They're 'Ultra Low Impedance' and have very high ripple current. So sayeth the farnell catalogue. Not much more expensive than Panasonic FCs either. Also there's this. What does anyone make of it?- bumf

EMU 0404 vs Audigy2 with HD590
How long have you had it? I thought the same at first, no different to my audigy, a touch more bass perhaps, but a couple of days of just putting music through it really 'opened it up'. I'm noticing all sorts of details the audigy just couldn't find.- bumf

audigy2 ZS + KXProject drivers + foobar2000 = sweetness
I didn't like the Kx drivers with my audigy 1. They made a big difference but sounded artificial compared to what I'd consider a neutral sound from the creative drivers. I gave them a couple of weeks before switching back and didn't miss them one bit I've since bought the 0404 and the...- bumf

what's best closed headphone? beside A900
Are the CD3K closed though? They may have a back on them but provide no isolation, apparently. I haven't tried them- bumf

Upgrade from HD25-SP
Isolation is my main concern, since most of my listening is done at my computer. If I were to get open cans which would you suggest? I've heard good things about the SR225, which is around the money I'd wish to spend.- bumf

Upgrade from HD25-SP
I'm happy with the 25sp yes but they're falling apart They'll still do for portable use so my new cans won't need to be portable. Looking at DT-770 now but I can't seem to find an 80 ohm version except for the DT-770 m which says it's designed for drummers. Is it 250 ohm you mean? Thanks- bumf

Upgrade from HD25-SP
Thanks for the replies Quote: The HD25-1's share the same sonic signature/character but adds an even deeper and punchier bass together with greater refinement and detail. That's just what I wanted to hear I'm considering the DT770's but they dont look as nice as the 25's...- bumf

Upgrade from HD25-SP
I've been using my HD25SP for a long time now and I've been pretty happy with their sound and isolation. My source is my PC with an audigy 1 which I'll soon be upgrading to 0404 + pimeta. I've been following the discussions on the HD25-1 and ATH-A900 but can't seem to make a decision. Things...- bumf
