Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
I own the 3s and the 5s (already sold the 4s), but I'm referring to the 5s specifically. I use the same EQ settings (3rd party EQ) for most of the music and they are fantastic, providing a very enjoyable and rich sound. It's true that I change the main settings when going to listen to classical...- Broquen

Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
Fair enough. Now I think I'm gong to be hated, especially in this thread, but the thing is I'm using a BT headphone now and, for my surprise, It's being hard to find any excuses to get back to the Focals when I'm able to use both. It can sound weird, but I enjoy more the music with the BT ones...- Broquen

Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
Many thanks for your review. It sounds pretty accurate and honest for me, although I only own the MGs and never tried LCD-X. I'd add a couple of things about them at a personal level: - The MGs have some weird metallic timber. The highs and mid/highs are a bit coloured. - They have a frequency...- Broquen

Tidal Lossless Streaming
I have to say that I'm very happy since I left quite apart cables, and why not say it too, most of high-end stuff. It can sound weird (and I suppose that few people will agree with me here), but I'm getting 90% of the performance when listening to Tidal + Sony WH-1000XM5 using LDAC, compared to... -
List your WOW factor songs!
Lots of great songs here, but not too much wow factor. There're a lot of them in every genre and many of them are well known, so I'll try to put some songs of several genres that I think that really have some 'wow factor', while trying to be original and very eclectic. Pop/others: Right on for... -
Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
You're right about the stock cable stiffness. I'm not going to spend that much, so have no idea in that price segment. Anyway, will be nice to read what you finally got, and what do you think about it, in case you share. Good luck.- Broquen

Studio headphones vs audiophile headphones
I agree, although I've not listened to an studio headphone in my whole life out of a store (so anyone feel free to skip my opinion). I've owned some nice neutral gear and think that the kind of signature that studio gear offers is not valid for all the people nor all the music genres. Well, one...- Broquen

Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements
Hey, how much are you willing to pay? I received a free one with my MG's which I found later on AE at 30+ €,quite cheap IMO. It has balanced and SEd versions and some lengths available. Connectors are ok/nice as can be seen. I like the sound of the 2.5mm. balanced version. It's "silver plated"...- Broquen

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
Because the Hifiman Ananda is one of the few planars really efficient enough to play fine from a not-so-powerful DAP (especially if you use balanced out and don't EQ). But hey, they sound quite well using Poweramp and some EQ from my smartphone too, so the SR25 should handle them fine under near...- Broquen

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
I've been looking for a while and today just received the Hifiman Ananda. The sound is good with the stock cable using SR25's 3,5mm. output and you can always get a 2.5mm. balanced aftermarket cable. The thing is I'm thinking to return them and get the Clear MG, exchanging the bigger sound of...- Broquen

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
Hi Luis! Sorry for the late response, but I lost my EQ config (one more time ) I'm unable to get fully used to the SR25 EQ saving system, and sometimes forget that when modifying the EQ settings from an already saved profile, the latter is overwritten  I've been trying to...- Broquen

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
Quoting you, 'funny you mention' using the Sony's with the cable. I was reluctant to admit that they can sound so good (with proper use of some EQ, of course), when switched on and using the cable through the 3,5 SR25 out. But yep, I must admit that I use them for listening to music from time to...- Broquen

Planar magnetic closed back headphones?
If you like Audeze, the 2021 revision of LCD-XC is lighter and seems to be a bit more comfortable with the last pads. The tuning it's said to be different than the previous one, too.- Broquen
