Don't have much of a problem with shuffles and im716. The 1st gen form factor and control placement are 2nd to none for pocket use. I'm having a hard time finding a larger dap with the same control scheme for playback/volume. Even if i hook up my amp (supermini) it all fits easily in a jacket...

You can get rid alot of the microphonics by wearing the cable over the ear. Like Shure in ears. As far as ear buds, look into Yuin PK2 for unamped, and PK1 amped.

I agree with the buttons issue. Maybe a used/refurb Rio Karma, or Iriver H120? Personally i want nothing more than a better 1st gen shuffle. 2-4gb capacity, headphone port on bottom end like 2nd gen nano, and thinner.

If you originally planned to get er4, you might like im716. There's alot of good threads on these phones here. Don't know if it's available there though, selling for US $86 on Newegg. These use ety's balanced armature drivers, so sq is way above marshmallow/ep630 class dynamic phones. I find...

I have the ep-630 and i don't recommend it for shuffles. These are highly sensitive phones, you'll hear hiss from either gen shuffles (more so on the 2nd gen). I find both gen shuffles can drive my im716 really well, good combination.

iM716! Midrange clarity is great, and with a good seal there's good bass. Sounds fantastic when amped. If the highs are too harsh for you, try adding more resistance (more ohms). Either something like an Ety P to S adapter, through an amp with higher imp. feature, or podectomy. Ditch the stock...

Since i got a 1st gen shuffle, i've been listening to it with the im716, alot. Now the koss 60ohm sound doesn't do it for me anymore. The ksc35's extra bass is somewhat enjoyable still, but unamped it lacks that deep bass impact of the 716 bass mode. I can't stand ksc75 anymore, time to...
