If you could only own ONE Shostakovich CD...
...which one would it be??? I'm looking to get into his music, but don't really have a lot of money to spend blindly experimenting. I'd be interested in a CD that is both one of his best works and is an audiophile-quality recording. Thanks! -
Depressing break-up music?
You should check out music by The Cure. Also, I think the blues is great! I find the blues depressing in a more satisfying way than "normal" depressing music. -

Need Help, anyone using or know about Computer External Soundcard ?
I bought the m-audio sonica external card, but won't be able to hook it up until the 19th because my computer is back at school. hmm.. interesting question about connecting the cable. If I remember correctly, it doesn't really matter if you have the cable or not, if your computer specs are... -
Good Source for bulk cable?
Thanks for all the suggestions! I just ordered a pair of HD-600s on ecost.com (at $180, how could I resist? ) so I won't really have any money to spend on hi-fi for a month or so.. but I'll keep the links for future use -
A comparison: My Grado SR-80 vs. My friend's V6's
Quote: Originally posted by MD1032 Uhhhh, what kind of specs and details? Well there's not too much to upgrade... you could ask for larger capacitors. I assume the model you're getting already comes with a volume knob, otherwise that would be a good option.- bohnetp

Where to go from here?
find something you don't like about your system or aren't satisfied with and try to improve that (e.g. "I wish the bass were better")- bohnetp

HELP! low budget home theater system
I recently built an ultra-budget system that I'm quite satisfied with: *Pair of PSB Alpa B speakers -- $217 shipped (from www.happymedium.com -- the last time I checked the site they had the old PSB models showing, but they do stock the new ones) *Cambridge Audio A300 v.2 Integrated amp --...- bohnetp

New Apple earphones - who's tried'em?
I'm not expecting too much from these headphones... they're probably overpriced and only slighty better (if at all) than the original iPod earphones, which I own and am not amazed by. At least these might be more confortable, though.- bohnetp

Do I have to remove the Panasonic Pot (Volume Control) before putting it inside?
hmmm... I wouldn't think that taking it apart is a good idea--that panasonic pot. seems to be made rather cheaply. Maybe you could find some way to rearrange things so that you can fit it in normally. When I made mine I mounted the panel components before putting the board in.- bohnetp

Don't mind me, just venting:
That's exactly what happened. The package had an "expected delivery date" of Jan. 6, but arrived early. So I guess they're just delivering it when I should've expeced it! Unfortunately, I don't like UPS's logic and have chosen priority mail and FedEx for a while now... I recomend that others...- bohnetp

Is there any cleaning procedures for Grado SR 60's?
Ha, my pads are dark green too! But, after 6 years of using the Sr-60s, I can't really complain. I think sunlight fades the pads after a while or something. Anyway, you could try cleaning your 'phones with eyeglasses cleaner.. it's pretty mild yet still gets the job done.- bohnetp
