Soldering suggestions?
thanks for the help guys, I decided on the Hakko 936 soldering iron, it looks very good. For the tip, I am looking at a http://www.hmcelectronics.com/cgi-bi...uct/0460-0014/ conical tip for cabling and board assembly. Does that look like a good one, or do you guys have some better suggestions?- bladeweaver

Headroom Airhead-Improvement?
Hey everyone- I currently have have a Headroom Airhead hooked up to my HD 600's, and I'm looking for a little bit of improvement. What kind of amp would I get to get some better sound? Either DIY or commerical, I dont have a preference, although I would prefer for it to be atleast semi portable.- bladeweaver

Smaller iPod Dock
A friend of mine had a similar problem, and ended up building a dock for it and using a pocketdock to connect it (if that makes sense). I'll try to track him down, he just moved. It was the basic dock, just with a cut out for the pocketdock. I'll try to track him down, he just moved..- bladeweaver

Refurb versus new?
Hey guys- I think my next headphone upgrade is going to be to the HD 600's, and while they seem great, I have a hard time justifying spending 300$ on them. However, 230-250 is not so bad, for a refurbished pair. Now, I have no problem buying refurb computer stuff, but I was wondering if with...- bladeweaver

Like to hear comments on Airhead + HD555
I actually have the same setup, so I may be able to help =) I would not say its a "WOW" moment, but it is definetly very noticeable. It really gives the HD 555's a far better sound, bringing out the details and bass and so forth. I am happy with the combo, overall.- bladeweaver

recabling a pair of HD555's/595's?
Ok, thanks for the info Nikon. I put together a 1/8-> 1/4 inch and 2 mini to RCA cables, so I think I have the hang of things, since they came out great, but I will try it on a pair of HD 201's that I picked up first.- bladeweaver

recabling a pair of HD555's/595's?
A few more questions: What type of solder should I use? Anything else I should have on hand when recabling? Anything I should know/hear about from other owners of either of these two headphones before recabling that would be helpful? (IE "Dont unscrew the third screw from the right, they...- bladeweaver
