Hi. I do not think theese headphones go to mass production because of the closure of Akg in 2017. The name remained, but the former akg team is now called "Austrian audio". The akg brand is now just a fancy name used by Harman.

I think the one with "beyerdynamic" label is the older one, th other with " 990 pro" label is the newer one. I do not heard both of them but i guess they should be same sound wise.

I use it with a cheap tube amp called Taga THA 200. It has a warmer caracter and match with the dt 990 quite well.

I like my beyedynamic dt 990 pro. It certanly has a coloration but compared to Sennheiser hd 598 the dt 990 technically clearly superior. It is a matter of taste.

You should try them yourself, but for me the k 550 is a much superior headphone to ath m50x. Akg has better separation bigger soundstage, and has a very nice balance over the spectrum. The ath m 50x is a good headphone but in that price range you can buy better colsed ones like the sennheiser...
