Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

I’m so tired of black headphones. I know the tan is going to age faster than the black, but ugh…I can’t do black again. I’m not sure if the PX8 will be my daily driver can, on account of them being so damn expensive, so if they’re just going to stay at home I might as well go for the tan model.

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

So has everyone gone with black? I’m still looking to demo the PX8s, and I’ll likely pick them up near the end of the year, once the budget allows it. My P7W and PX7 are still trucking along but the new kid on the block is looking very tempting. Like TK33 mentioned, the PX7S2 would have been a...

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?

Audio codecs and driver tuning are 2 different things. LDAC is a better performing codec than SBC or AAC, sure, but if the default sound signature is as flabby as the XM3’s (and the 4’s, for that matter), it won’t matter. EQ tuning can fix the bass, but turning on EQ disables LDAC….oh well. The...

The XM4s are completely outclassed if we’re comparing them to the APM, the Senns and the Bowers headset. They might have better ANC but sound quality and aesthetics just aren’t there.

    Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX

I guess this is the official thread, then? I own the first-gen H9 so I’m long overdue for an upgrade. Should be grabbing the HX in the next month or so but the recent announcement of the Portal might have put a wrench in those plans. I’m a heavy Xbox gamer so it’s like the Portals were made...

Assuming you’ve got a decent enough can, once you go wireless, it’s hard to go back.

Went off on a bit of a tangent there oops. Bringing the conversation back to the APM, I don't think these are going to be as much of a seismic shift in consumer audio as the Airpods/Pro. A full-size headphone is just not what the typical consumer is looking for nowadays, not to mention the cost...

    AirPods Max

I haven't listened to my desktop setup (various cans going into a iFi Micro iDSD) in months. I'm just not about that life anymore. I still keep it around as a fallback to when I want a superior audio source, but that need has been overcome by the freedom of wireless, just lying around the house...

I believe Snazzy’s YouTube review had a quick mention of him doing a blind listening test with a few people and als ost all of them preferred how wired sounded. Personally I’ve never used a cable in any of my wireless headphones and I’m not about to start with the APM if I ever pick one up. Its...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Symbios were too hard and the stems too long for TWS I found the Xelastecs perfect for the Sonys, they aren’t cheap and you have to experiment with sizing to get the right fit (I went two sizes down from my regular M size), but these grip like nothing else and they’re exactly what you want to...

    AirPods Max

The 6XX should handily take the top spot, if you’re judging solely based on sound quality. You’d have to ignore that you’re comparing 2 completely different beasts, one a open-back wired headphone, the other a closed-back wireless ANC can. They’re about as different as they could be...IMHO just...

Can’t imagine lugging a LCD-2c around as a portable setup heh. Don’t wanna bring this too far offtopic but did you try tip-rolling the APPs? The stock silicone tips are flimsy, I swapped them immediately for Spinfit CP1025s and the fit is spot-on. Azla Xelastecs are another option but they’re a...

Snazzy is legit. His review of the APP is one of the best on YT. He‘s got serious audiophile equipment as well so he has some cred there.

It’s 2020. Average consumers are buying true wireless earphones now. Wireless headphones aren’t exactly new tech, in fact they’re kind of old news.

I really don’t think these things are meant to be brought out of the house. Of course you could if you wanted to, nobody’s stopping you, but sweating into the mesh earcups...that’s going to look nasty after a while. Throw em into your backpack, and you’d better pray nothing catches onto the...
