I never get any harsh spikes. So maybe either my interface or my damaged ears are rolling it off a bit. I did expect the V3 to be brighter given what i've read around the internet before i bought them, but it hasn't been my experience so far. I have actually wished they were brighter

I haven't heard the V2, but i have the Ananda Stealth V3 and i would definitely not describe it as bright. To me it feels warm and thick. It's a relaxed sound, vocals can feel a tiny bit too far back actually. But i guess it's possible that the HP output on my audio interface isn't amping them...
