    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I just received my ZN Mini - they sound quite nice out of the box, but can't say more so far, since I'm at work and couldn't even really try to get an ideal seal. Only thing I noticed is one side rattles a bit in very low frequencies. Will see if that improves, I only noticed it during the...

Xiaomi Hybrid IEM Thread (Piston successor)

That's a hard question - I like both to be honest. Since I am one of the people that apparently got a Hybrid with working BA I find the Hybrid maybe a bit less warm than the Piston 3.   I took them both out just now to compare them. For modern music I like both - the Piston 3 might be less...

If you haven't tried the Piston 3 yet, I'd recommend them. Dazzle Edition should be about $5-7 I think and I like them a lot. You might also want to try some KZ IEMs, seems they are quite good for the price as well, but there's a plethora of them, so it would be best to check the thread for them.

Thank you for the comparison, it's important to have such data imo. Very interesting and adds to the theory about differences in manufacturing. Glad I got a good pair, but overall it's a bad thing for Xiaomi that they skimped on quality control this time it seems... Maybe the people with...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

MMCX seems to be a common connector standard - but you will need to check if the headphones/cables use it before buying.

Yeah, the frequency response also made me think, but idk in how far you can trust the numbers these companies publish anyway and the ZN1 didn't get too bad comments on the KZ thread... Well, I already bought the ZN1 Mini and will see what I get. It's not like I spent a fortune at least. ;)

Very interesting & might then very well be a quality control issue and explain the different opinions.   Yes, P3 is a solid and cheap option - I still like them & if you go for the Youth or Dazzle versions they are very cheap for the sound.   Coincidentally I also ordered KZ headphones...

They cost USD 6.61 at the link you provided, you already got quite a few recommendations on which models have good bass, so why not just buy the ED4? It's like a coffee's worth of small change. You can't really lose - if you don't like them give them away, use them for listening to audiobooks or...

For 6 bucks why not just try them?

I just ordered a ZN1 Mini, seems due to the weak Yuan it was cheaper than yesterday. Will see how it is - so far I only ever used Pistons as far as Chinese IEMs are concerned.

Maybe I overlooked it, but has anyone tried the ZN1 Mini, yet?

Ok, then it might be my ears or a manufacturing issue. ;)

I can only write what I experienced - but since the opinions vary a lot there might be some manufacturing issues, or maybe it depends on the input. I mainly use my laptop or my iPhone.

Same here, they even seemed to have too much treble/sibilance for me out of the box, but that vanished rather quickly and I do like them now (they were very cold when I first tried them, maybe that contributed). Still, I already ordered a few Piston 3 Dazzle Edition ones because of my trouble...

Xiaomi Hybrid IEM Thread (Piston successor)

I have the same problem with the hybrids - and I had it with the Piston 3s, too... Although I try to leave the cables alone as best as I can and never wind them up tightly they get a 90° bend directly at the headphone jack and even manage to squeeze out from the kevlar sheath. (I would have...
