I've heard amping through iphone is a bad idea. Because the internal iphone amp sucks and using an external amp would mean just amping that crappy sound? is that right?

I just bought a m40x. Regreatably, the bass wasn't what i expected. Im trying to sell it off but I kinda doubt someone will want it. So i was wondering will an amp increase the bass?  I normally use it on my iphone and on my pc/laptop(which doesnt have a sound card).

Nah. It says no return. I was looking for a budget headphones and i thought M40x was a good pair. I still think it is. Only lacking bass though. If im lucky, someone might buy my m40x and i may consider getting a m50. But after some research, i think an amp is what i need to get a better bass...

Hi active members of Head-Fi.   I just bought myself a ATH M40X and I was a bit dissapointed. I found the bass level on this is not i what i expect to be.   So i was wondering anyone else could help fix this problem? I heard the an amp might fix this but im not sure.   Daily usage on my PC...
