Sennheiser PXC 550 Discussion and Reviews
Yeah, I do that when I remember to. But most of the albums I have downloaded to my phone are the result of me chasing the clock downloading a new album to my iPhone before the airplane pulls away from the gate. It happens every time. You'd think I'd learn.- Audionautics

That's a fair point JerseyD. I've auditioned other cans in search of a replacement (Sennheiser PXC 550's, B&O Beoplay H6's) and nothing really compares. I've definitely decided to keep my set around. They're just too good.- Audionautics

As far as isolation goes, it's never been a problem for me. They're not as isolating as ANC headphones, obviously, but they're better than they have any right to be.- Audionautics

Sennheiser PXC 550 Discussion and Reviews
That's an impressive rig! I have a laptop full of ALAC as well, but my phone is mostly Match. I've got a couple choice albums uploaded to ALAC, but my library way outweighs my iPhone's built in memory. I'm glad you've found a solution and I might have done some frankenrig if I kept them longer...- Audionautics

Sennheiser PXC 550 Discussion and Reviews
Thanks for the help guys. I really wanted ANC, but ANC is not a requirement if the cups give good enough isolation to use in travel. I have decent access to a BOSE store, and I'm eyeing the B&O H6 / H9 line for the same price point. Dweaver: you have the Momentum On Ear. How do they stack up...- Audionautics

Sennheiser PXC 550 Discussion and Reviews
Next Day review: I spent all day listening to these cans. They're going back today. I downloaded the app, messed with all the settings. Put the headphones in different listening modes, even tried a recipe I found for their "Director" mode (Director is the Sennheiser app name for custom)...- Audionautics

Sennheiser PXC 550 Discussion and Reviews
Hello PXC 550ers, Maybe I need some help. But first impressions: I have never been so disappointed with unboxing a set of headphones. I just received my 550's a few hours ago. I got them in, charged them up, paired them with my iPhone. Cranked up my go-to new-equipment song, Babe I'm...- Audionautics

It's funny that you mention that about the ambient noise on the train. It got me thinking that their lack of isolation might have been more of a plus than a minus in my application. When I'm on the airplane alone, the ambient noise is so loud that I can crank these things without worrying about...- Audionautics

Hello Head-Fi'ers. I wanted to revive this thread with my impressions on the T51i's. I recently got a gig where I have to fly across the country on a semi regular basis and I needed some great travel headphones. I'm a Beyer fan and I push DT880's through a LittleDot at home, but that's not...- Audionautics
