I had been impressed with the es-2a with my B-21 and Exogal Comet Plus but I just switched over to my 2 channel Aries Cerat front and wow did everything go up a few notches. It is not holding back and scaled with the source change. Definitely a winner for me.

I listened to a couple of hours of the JM Audio XTC playlist on Qobuz with the XTC 2.0s and everything was quite excellent!

It needs to be built correctly. Chinese built won't work. You need all 6 wires out to be terminated into the single ended female. Ray built this one for me to prove it works. He can give you the configuration of the wires.

All you need is this. It works perfectly.

I received my Mahogany XTC 2.5 back Friday from John. I had the tuning changed from Bliss to Heavy Bliss which is what I had done on my XTC 2.0. Wow is about I can say. Even John thought the revision took the XTC 2.5 to another level above the Bliss Tuning. Thanks John.

The instructions tell you to do it immediately but do give you an option not to but warn of the more potential damage. Therefore I did it.

Unless you really need a close back, I would go with the XTC 2. I have both. I just got my XTC 2.5 tuned the same as the XTC 2 and both are outstanding.
