So the conclusion is that the difference between the D5000 and D7000 is veryyy small? I have sent back the D5000 and got the D7000 so i cannot compare them directly, but from my memory i think the difference in sound especially for the money (over 500 USD more than the D5000) is to small

As the Xonar STX has HP amp you could easily use the HD650 with great sound quality

As long as you use optical(digital) cables from your SC to the receiver, the DAC is used by the receiver if i am correct. You could try to connect your receiver with rca cables(analog) for stereo listning. BTW did you use the "HF"(HIFI) button on the STX then you tryed the HD650?

Any date set to the Xonar Xence?
