I have a schiit jotunheim that is driving my denon d5200. I get intermittent low sound. Sound will be low, I'll crank up volume, and then 5 seconds later it will be too loud, so i'll put it low again and then a minute or two later it will too low again. Any idea what the other culprits could be?

I have Ultimate Ears UERM; crud tends to accumlate in my smartphone ports, so I need something with a case that protects ports when they aren't in use.

i use ultimate ears reference monitors for gaming. I use them for hours on end with no problem. I mean custom molded IEMs are designed around comfort. It seems kind of absurd to suggest that they couldn't be comfortable enough for hours of use in gaming imo.

I just ordered a cable for my he560, and its the older model with the screw on connectors. I just want to make sure the option for the HE300, HE400, HE500, and HE6 is the scew on connectors and not the plug in kind.

i think the scope of his reviews is such a good thing though. Its so easy to look at one headphone you both have used and then compare it to another one he has reviewed that you have never tried. Hopefully he is having so much fun that he has completely forgotten about this site.

So often times i'll be listening to something and i'll think that the seperation between the left and right sounds very artificial. And i'm wondering if that is because the dac on the Jot isn't very good or because the source isn't very good.

using the Jot with a balanced cable works pretty well with the 560. Using the 560 and Jot with a grounded cable is a bit bright.
