Classical Music CDs for Auditioning Head Gear
Not really the same subject, but there's an active thread for classical music here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/626563/best-classical-recordings-ever If you like Bach, Julia Fischer's Bach Concertos, among her other recent albums released through Decca, are mastered very well and sound amazing... -
THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)
I'm a little bit ashamed to admit that I'd never heard before of Tina Dico, because I've been a huge fan of Zero 7 ever since Simple Things. Just never paid that much attention to the names of the vocalists. Anyway, "Home" is one of my favorite Zero 7 songs and I happened to stumble across... -

Harrisonburg, VA Area, anyone?
Not sure if you guys were aware, but HeadAmp Audio Electronics is based in Charlottesville. You can see what they make (and sell) here: http://www.headamp.com/ Btw, the primary point of contact for HeadAmp on Head-Fi is user @justin w. He's usually pretty busy though, and I...- Asr

Garage1217 Project Solstice
Since the Sunrise's info page on the Web site was a bit confusing, I asked Jeremy @ Garage1217 and he confirmed that the Sunrise is indeed an OTL amp, but he also added that it can be "considered a hybrid as amplification is done in the class A stage". Btw, not all of the Garage1217 amps...- Asr

Garage1217 Project Solstice
I just made an update to my Solstice review from last year, added quite a bit of stuff on more tubes, more headphones, etc! Link here: http://www.head-fi.org/products/garage1217-project-solstice/reviews/14378 That'd be an incorrect assumption. According to the Sunrise page, it's an OTL...- Asr

2016 Boulder/Denver CO Winter Meet (1/23) Impressions Thread
Sorry, but I fully anticipate moving out of state this summer (tentatively by July/August if not sooner), so someone else should probably take up the task of organizing the local meets from now on. I'd offer to organize a spring meet, but my schedule for the next couple months is looking very...- Asr

Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000 Discussion (and Appreciation) Thread!
The only two amps I'd recommend are out of production, if you don't mind getting something used off the FS forums: either the HeadAmp Gilmore Lite, or a DIY-built M3. I haven't heard any of the currently-popular in-production solid-state amps on the market so I can't comment on them, except for...- Asr

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
No I can't say that with any confidence when I have no idea of what your gear is or what your preferences are, but you should hear the R70x for yourself to decide if it'd be appropriate for your usage. I can't tell from your posts whether you're in the USA or not, but there are a bunch of online...- Asr

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
I've tried the K712 with the Valhalla 2. It wasn't "bad" per se, but it definitely wasn't great, and it sounded better-balanced even out of my solid-state HeadAmp Gilmore Lite (which is saying something, because it doesn't drive the K712 all that well and causes a bass detraction). The K712...- Asr

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)
^ I think most Head-Fiers liked the LCD-2 back when it was the r1 and r2 versions though, because the latest revision with the Fazor mod hasn't been quite as well-received. But yeah I agree, $850 for a used LCD-2 regardless of its revision is kinda high.- Asr
