My tiny rant about headphones.
Even in the USA its a pain to find places to try headphones. Best place i ran across was a little shop in the SFO airport, only place i have been to that had ear buds with disposable ear peices for all their in ear phones. Mainly Klipsch and Shure though.- Ashenwelt

smartphones and 24 bit audio; are there any and what solutions r available?
The LG G2 has hardware 24bit audio. I believe it was the first phone with it. It also natively plays flac.- Ashenwelt
