I'm still new to the audiophile life and my ~6 month old AKG Q701's could use a little clean, but I've no idea how I should go about it? It doesn't seem possible to separate the pads themselves from the little piece of mesh/fabric that covers the speakers so I imagine a machine wash would be too...

How did you get the entire screw out? The bottom half of mine appears to be broken and comes out easily, but the top half is still in the construction where it should be.   As you can probably tell, I'm not exactly the most DIY-savy person around :)

My right ear cup fell off this morning as I took them off my head, needless to say that I'm fairly annoyed. I've had them almost a year now but all I'm interested in now is how I can fix them. I should mention that I live in the UK too.

  I received the D2000's last Christmas, and I can only say praise about them. The bass on the D2000's is incredible, it isn't overly bassy, the bass kicks in when it needs to. The cans themselves are very comfortable, you barely feel they're there. Although the 'clamping' on them isn't...

Ahh I see ;).   Thanks alot for the help, I'm planning on ordering the 595's sometime this week. I'm sure they'll be a direct upgrade from my old HD212 Pro's.
