If anyone's looking to buy the Bendix 6080WB w/ Slotted Graphite Columns and RCA 5693 Red Hot tubes for the La Figaro 339 or similar OTL amp, I have them for sale here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/699877/fs-two-bendix-6080wb-w-slotted-graphite-columns-two-rca-5693-red-hots Bought them but never had...

    La Figaro 339

Anyone know how much of a difference the 2011 339 is to the 2013 version? Worth it? What sonic differences do they have?   Also, if anyone is selling a Darkvoice 339 and you have trader rep on Head-Fi, LIVE and SHIP in the US and you'd be willing to ship WITH INSURANCE for around $500, I'm...

While we're on the subject of Amplifiers..I just bought a La Figaro 339 and I'm looking at tubes. I wanted the Tung-Sol 5998 and RCA 5693 combo until I realized it was 120+ for just the Tung Sol tubes. Ouch. Anything almost as good that's cheaper? Would prefer to spend around 15..but if the...

Always wanted to hear the difference between the Darkvoice 337SE and the O2. Is it worth going from the O2 to the 337SE? What are the differences? Noticeable? Worth 6x+ the price?   Somehow I feel it wouldn't be worth it.

I agree with the above post almost in full. Only thing I'd change about that is that I did hear a difference between the canare black cable vs the silver cable. While I agree the silver cable tends to introduce distortion if rubbed against staticy clothing, if you listen normally, don't move...

Quote: Wrote a review of the two on another website, PM me if you want to read it and have some time (it's long). Basically to put it in short..the bass of the HE-400s is more impactful than the HE-500s, but the HE-500s reverberate deeper bass better I think. The HE-400s and HE-500s are...

Thing I love most about the headphone is the price. It's in the perfect price range where you can't beat it. It's just shy of those headphones that could knock it out making it an excellent choice if you don't want to spend the extra for those other headphones..it also is nicely balanced. I...

Quote: I'm of the same opinion. The HE-500s could use some more treble. Coming from the HE-400s before the HE-500s..while the HE-400s were more annoying and painful to listen to..the treble was at times much more enjoyable to listent o than the HE-500s. The HE-500s treble seems leashed as...

Quote: I thought about trying that, but the thought of ruining 700-1000 USD headphones with glue makes me queasy.

I was thinking it might be how the song was mastered. Unfortunately many good songs are recorded and mastered very poorly.

Well..I didn't particularly have a song in mind as it usually is any and every song. If there's a bass only part it sounds great..but as other instruments are introduced the bass dies down and the drivers focus on the other instruments more it seems. Here's a song as an example:   Lacuna...

Hi,   I was told to try to seek your help here regarding my HE-500s coming apart. I contacted HIFIMAN Customer Service via the website and was told that I had to pay $110 dollars to have my headphones repaired/replaced. I was told if it was repaired I'd be looking at 3+ weeks to get them...

I wonder if anyone agrees with me when I say that the HE-500s bass sounds amazing when the song is NOT complicated/busy. If you're listening to a bass guitar solo or something..the bass sounds fantastic..but as other sounds are introduced..the bass weakens a lot. I can definitely understand...

HiFiMAN tried to justify their price to me telling me that because the plastic was stripped somehow the drivers may have been damaged and they will need to replace the entire headphone.         The drivers are working fine, mind you. There's no cable going through the...
