    Trinity Hyperion Review by mark2410

Just received my Hyperions and even at brief listen I recognise what a good review Mark2410 made.  The presentation, sheer number of extra earpieces and the case seem out of proportion, in quality, to the price which with the HeadFi discount was £24 delivered.  Oh and the sound.  Used to...

Best Over Ear or In Ear Headphones

Having gone through a fair few headphones including the wonderful PX100 and the better PX200 (the closed format is better for the gym) as well as a multitude of in-ear and cheap stuff I find the current gym and exercise set, Sony MDR W80L, are just a bit fragile and the lead is just a little too...

DT770 (Beyerdynamic) 250 ohm. Will a CMOY power it?

No I had not considered the O2 but have just had a look and it seems very interesting at least for home use with one review suggesting its a bit heavy for portable use but I suppose the DT 770's are hardly an out and about kind of headphone anyway.     Andy

DT770 (Beyerdynamic) 250 ohm. Will a CMOY power it?

My local store has the DT 770 available in 250 ohm guise and from searches so far it seems that some sort of amping will be needed.  I have a low end Fiio, the E5, which I know will be useless but also an older but well made CMOY, Penguin Caffiene, amp which runs from a 9v PP3 battery.  Will the...

    Best Earphones For Cycling....?

Sennheiser CX300's for when the weather is wet and crappy.  As old and low end as they might be they seem to keep plugging on when no matter what gets thrown at them. Sennheiser IE6's for better weather when damage is less likely.  I use the Senn's because I didn't really like them and thought...

    Beyer's DT235

I bought the DT231 recently (good price) and use them a lot, perhaps now my favourite headphone.  They are an "easy listen" and suit a wide range of music and I've had more episode of just "drifting off" with music since I got them.  In fact even at home when I'll often use them instead of my...

Help me find a sub £50 IEM from Amazon.co.uk

    Soundmagic PL50 or the newer E30?   Andy80F

Soundmagic pl 50 (with fiio e5) or headdirect re2 (with fiio e5)

I adore my PL50's and would recommend them.  The only problem is in getting a good fit and have tried Sony Hybrids and Comply tips (the best option) as the supplied tips were not that great.  However the same problem exist(ed) with my Senn IE6's so it may be more of a fit issue for IEMs and my...

Suggestions for a IEM Under $100 (Motorcycle Helmet w/Sansa Clip+)

Soundmagic PL50 with Comply tips,  Very low profile phones and the comply tips allow a great degree of wind noise suppression.  Have used in helmet speakers and the Soundmagic set up and the IEM route is definitely the one to take.  Of course custom moulded would be a better solution but I could...

    my sony eggos finally broke

My Eggos still get very regular use, so practical on the move and a little Fiio E5 is a good companion for beefing up the bass.  However I also recently bought a set of Beyerdynamic DT231's which sound so much better and I have started to use more and more but the Eggo's have such a nice form...

Which of these: Sony XB500, Denon AH301, JVC RX700, Panasonic HTF890 or Senn PX 100?

might be worth considering the Beyerdynamic DT 235.  I bought the 231 recently, for a good price, and have been delighted with the sound.  The fact they look uninspiring is strangely a good point when wearing them out and about.  Worth a look perhaps.   Andy

    What are your secret headphones?

Sony Eggo's.  One of the most practical and well designed portables out there.  Bass might be a tad absent and nothing pops out of the music anymore like you find with new, and better, headphones but in those sub critical listening times such as when travelling or just avoiding x-factor on the...

Fake or real: Sennheiser IE 7 s

I see Play.com have IE7's listed at £69.99 however having recently had a poor experience with them whilst trying to buy IE6's I'd bet they were from the same shipment as your E-bay ones.  It's a pity the IE7 is just so ugly or I might follow you to Amazon for a pair.   Andy

    Best earphones under £50?

Second the Soundmagic PL50.  I've recently lost mine and will need another set.  Compy Tips are great for isolation and the Sony buds better for more casual use but neither are expensive and still within the £50.     Andy80F
