TES 4: Oblivion
The official forums are going crazy with people who can't get the game today. Apparently, there was some confusion between "Shipping" and "Selling" - some stores have been selling Oblivion today (Monday) while others are reporting that it is illegal for them to sell until tomorrow. TES 4: Oblivion
Bethesda has stated that Oblivion will be 16sq miles, which is a bit bigger than Morrowind was. Honestly, the real beefs I had with Morrowind's size were related to the fact that you had to walk *around* the hills/mountains in order to get anywhere. I really liked the exploration aspect of it...- androgeny

TES 4: Oblivion
Ironically, I didn't get into Morrowind that much. I finished it, but probably played maybe 80% of the game. It started to feel like a chore. Also, I couldn't stand the game world. Something about a barren wasteland just doesn't make me want to be there. Really enjoyed having my stronghold...- androgeny

TES 4: Oblivion
Just wanted to see if there's anyone else who has been hopelessly swept up in the hype-machine surrounding this game. I usually don't let it happen- androgeny

Opeth Wiltern Show
Was Mikael his usual hilarious self? I love the banter he has with the audience. He was really jetlagged for the Raleigh show on 2-15. Not to mention he was pissed at not having all his equipment. We didn't get to see him at his most jovial, but it was a great show nonetheless. -
Lollapalooza line up!
Will this concert ever die? What is this country's stupid obsession with remaking things can't possibly be like they were? Lollapalooza should have died the day Metallica headlined at a NASCAR race track. Sorry for the negativity, it really looks like it'll be a cool experience. They... -
New TOOL is FINALLY here!
Nice blurb. I'm very glad the band is taking precautions to guard against leaks. I did the whole "OMG LEEKT TOOL" thing with Lateralus and I don't think I want to do that with this one. I certainly don't trust my willpower in the event of an actual leak, however. As far as the possible... -

The most ridiculous thing you've ever heard from a customer
My wife worked at the information desk while we were dating in college, so she would get lots of great stories. Here's the best by far: Backstory: Exam week at college is a big schedule change. I'm not sure if every university does it the same way or not, but the exam schedule was based on...- androgeny

Sound Blaster X-fi: just hype or what?
Are there any 5.1/7.1 PC speaker systems that come close to the quality found in a $200+ headphone? I have a crappy 5.1 setup (Logitech $50 clearance special!) and a pair of DT770s. Since I started using the Beyers, I've had no problems pinpointing any sounds around me in UT2004. For some...- androgeny

Study Confirmed: Kids new fashion style causes deafness
I listened to my headphones loudly when I was in high school, but it seems music and "music culture" are being pushed on kids even earlier than ever now. How many songs out there have the words "turn it up" in them? Or "play it loud"? Hell, wasn't "Play it loud" a tagline for some company at one...- androgeny

Do you stomp on bugs/insects?
Insects/arachnids will be here LONG after the last human has breathed his/her last breath. There seem to be no limits to their adaptability or their ability to live in seemingly inhospitible environments. Killing a cockroach you see in your home is insignificant to the colony of 10 million*...- androgeny
