Are diy bookshelf speakers worthwhile on a budget?
A bit bigger than the Martello's that pabbi1 made, but still quite tiny, I have completed some mMar-Kel70's and you could do that for 200 bucks all in. Pretty hot little speakers - uses a single 4 inch full range driver with a paper...- amc

Does anyone have the iPhone LOD pinout?
Check the wiki - it has links to the original posts and some pictures that should help you figure out the orientation of the connector so you know what is pin one - on top or on bottom. http://www.head-fi.org/wiki/diy-ipod-line-out-dock-pinout and if its not clear, you can always edit it...- amc

DIY iPod LOD Cables
Good post - I like the image of the orientation of the connector and pinout diagram. You can take your ground away from audio ground and attach it to the pin 11/15/21 bridge FYI - some people like this as it makes soldering a bit easier since pin 2/3/4 are so close together. Also why not...- amc

The GrubDAC
Quote: If it is non-cable - you will be putting RCA's or a mini TRS jack panel mounted on the case, and the USB connector could be touching as well. using metal panels, would there be any grounding issues? Should the jacks be isolated?- amc

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
So, My kit starving student is happily working away and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I have one issue though. I seem to get significant ringing or pinging in my cans if I touch the amp while listening. Happens if I touch the heat sinks, the tubes, the volume knob, touch my source (Ipod), or...- amc

DIY starter kit
Most people I would think start with a basic iron instead of a station to see if they like DIY or not. There are a lot of other tools to buy too so its a big outlay to get a station as well at the same time. Think you need to get things like wire cutters, flush cutters, solder, braid, helping...- amc
