Silver Dragon v2 damage - Advice?

I'll probably send Drew a mail later this evening along with some pictures and I'll see what he has to say about it. But yes, as you say, I'll probably send it back for repair. It's just a bummer that the shipping will be quite expensive from Sweden, not to mention the time it's going to take...

Silver Dragon v2 damage - Advice?

So as the title says, my Silver Dragon v2 is damaged. The right side connector of the cable is broken. The left side is unharmed. Problem arose when I was about to switch the cable over to my HD600's for a bit of comparison and just a bit of variation in sound. Alas, the cable broke when I...

    HD650, trouble replacing the cable

Great success! One side pulled out... although it requires a SIGNIFICANT amount of force. Edit: Both out now! Time to listen, and thanks!

    HD650, trouble replacing the cable

So, I've just unpacked my newly aquired Sennheiser HD650 (wanted to hear how they are compared to the HD600 I am borrowing from my brother). However, I'm encountering problems when trying to remove the HD650 cable. Normally you'd just pull straight out on the HD600's, but the cable on the...

    325i's worth it??

I must say my expirience was the other way around with SR225. Having tested the SR225 against various sources (Linn Ikemi, Linn Majik, Linn Classic CD/Musik/Movie/Genki) in combination with a few amps (Ear90 (Balanced in), Corda Opera and X-Can V3) I can't really say they're bass-shy. While...

    Upgrade debate: source vs. cans

Going all out on a headphone just to ignore the source (which is quite mediocre to be honest) is a waste. As it has been pointed out before, there's no point buying a top-of-the-line headphone if you can't go all out with the rest. The result you would end up would be "garbage in, garbage out"...

    Replacement earpads for the HD600

Sennheiser sells replacement pads in case you want to buy brand new ones. Don't have any up-to-date prices though. I belive they go for around $50, don't quote me on that though.

What is your favorite listening position?

Stacking up a pile of soft pillows in the corner of my sofa, then just lean back, stretch out and relax. Usually with the HD600. I've sometimes fallen asleep with them on. I'm quite used to sleeping on my back and if I have the HD600's on it's like I know that they're on me while sleeping so...

    I'm officially Grado'ed.

As my brother said, I've also been officially Grado'ed. I'll be hitting the wallet with a mallet in a few days. Be it for the SR225's or the 325i's, probably going to end up being the 225's for economical reasons though

Switch Off Aria/Opera make USB no more audio principale source of you PC audio ?

Lets see if I've gotten this all right... The phone program you're using is probably detecting the USB cable (which uses the DAC in the amp) to the Aria/Opera as it's default soundcard. You could fix this by changing the default soundcard in the control panel to whatever card you're using...

    head-fi is a fix!

I had an awesome day today as I listened to various Linn system setups (some pretty darned expensive... ranging to $13k). Anyways, I had my own Denons hooked up directly towards this Linn system aswell as through my own Balanced Ear90 and a X-Can v3. Compared the D2000's against Grado SR225...

How much better does it get from SR80's?

Once you pass, lets say $1-200 step it's not really massive improvements, overall the SQ will increase as you go up, but the headphones all have their different coloration of the sound. Some have great focus on mids and bass, others on highs, some are very balanced in their sound etc. Do some...
