Quote: Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all night. Quote: I'd un-steal those precious seconds if I could, but sadly I can't. Here is a haiku instead: HD650 how magnificent you are eargasm imminent Woah woah. Both the headphone and I were of age when this...- Acoustik

Pear Cable Discrepancy
Hey guys, I had no idea what forum I should post this in so I posted it here. Anyways. I was reading the Pear Cable site for giggles today when I came across this: Pear Cable Audio Cables - Cable Design It rags on how bad Foamed Teflon is. Interestingly, if you look under the section...- Acoustik

Bought both Adam A5 and Adam A7 on same day - what to do?
Quote: If all the tweaking is placebo and when the audio system is completed the placebo must continue somewhere else (girlfriend hobby). When I come to think of it, when my headphone hobby was completed my girlfriend magically appeared. Psychosis or schizophrenia.- Acoustik

The Denons do not isolate extremely well or poorly. The person next to you will probably be able to hear some of your music.- Acoustik

A question for knowledgeable engineers
This reminds me a lot of your other thread about testing headphones with sine waves and whatnot. It depends on your ears. Everyone hears differently, so it would vary from person to person. I'd go with whichever headphones has the most neutral frequency response after factoring the frequency...- Acoustik

Are cans what I need
A nice cheap headphone is the Creative Aurvana (the headphone version). It is essentially identical (same OEM model) to the Denon AH-D1001, but the aesthetics are slightly different. Its a lot cheaper than the D1001, last time I checked. Unfortunately, the isolation is lousy. The sound quality...- Acoustik

Skullcandy Headphones
Skullcandy is everywhere. It's sad. If only the headphone companies with an actual emphasis on sound quality were better at marketing... =\- Acoustik

Check your drivers for hair and dust. I had rattling on my HD650s because of a hair.- Acoustik

why do people demo headphones with music?
It feels fantastic to finally have the opportunity to share my knowledge with the rest of you. Whether of not you agree with it is your issue, but I am entitled to my opinions. Is it too much to ignore because I somehow stepped on your ego? If so, I apologize. 1) Even if you have synesthesia...- Acoustik

why do people demo headphones with music?
I've been reading Head Fi for close to two years now and have never had the need to register and post, mainly because this forum is so comprehensive and wonderful that my questions and the comments I usually have are encompassed in someone else's post. But the point that the OP is arguing is...- Acoustik
