Thanks, I will check it out a little more.  I am only testing JRiver software for now.  I did spend about 1.5 hours configuring and trouble shooting Foobar 2000 and I got it to work with the 720.  The DSD lights up now.  Now I need to figure out how to install more skins...

So I have a Sony VAIO laptop and am using JRiver software.  Should this be able to play DSD files out to the 720 which I have.  So far it only shows 44.1k on the 720 while playing DSD files.

Who reads the user manual? LOL. I purchased the X5 because I wanted to listen to some DSD albums. The only one I have so far is Jimmy D. Lane with Double Trouble which sounds pretty good to me. I wanted to try Frampton Comes Alive but that was $50! So I got it from Amazon for $9.

I think Eva Cassidy had the best voice I ever heard. I just downloaded an Adele album about 2 weeks ago and that is awesome too. Whoever recorded the album did an amazing job.

Yes, am I not suppose to do that? Also, I noticed some static before some songs. Maybe for half a second. I notice this on a DSD album.

I have an X5 now and it has some weird stuff that happens from time to time. Sometimes when I hit the volume down button it will go back to the first song on the album. I can't go forward or back a song unless the screen is lit. Is this normal for this player? I think I have v2 of the firmware.

It's funny that you mention chairs. I work for a manufacturer of bus seats and instead of buying office chairs for employees they take a bus seat and attach a stand. It's very uncomfortable that's why I ordered my own office chair with my own money. It's a lot more comfortable than a bus seat.:D...
