Replacing EL-8 Open back that was smashed! Can't decide between several models
Well, I was definitely sold on the Aeon Flow Opens. I couldn't resist the sound signature compared to my EL-8 Opens. I loved my EL-8, but I feel the AFO is going to be more the style that I enjoy. I also feel the AFO achieves my desire to get a good pair that is more comfortable than the...- acheron32

Replacing EL-8 Open back that was smashed! Can't decide between several models
Oh okay, I wasn't sure if I was reading that right. I always liked how the EL-8 open sounded to me. I actually think that I will buy either the Aeon Flow Open or Aeon Flow Closed. They both have gushing reviews, so I don't think I can go wrong with either one, because it seems people really...- acheron32

Replacing EL-8 Open back that was smashed! Can't decide between several models
Overall, I didn't have problems with the EL-8 as far as comfort, but there were times that I felt like it was bothering me. I hesitate to get a headphone that is heavier, but I do love Audeze and I like the design of that headband. It would be a tough choice between the LCD2 Classic closed or...- acheron32

Replacing EL-8 Open back that was smashed! Can't decide between several models
Hmmm, that is an intriguing idea. I never thought about the LCD2-Classic, but the price is certainly right. How is the weight and comfort level on the LCD2 in comparison to the EL-8 that you have? I'm sure it is heavy like most of their headphones are, but is it heavier than the EL-8 or about...- acheron32

Replacing EL-8 Open back that was smashed! Can't decide between several models
Well, sadly, my EL-8 Opens that i always loved for home use are now toast along with . While on a vacation with family, I had them in the trunk of a vehicle that was seriously rear-ended by a distracted driver. The car's trunk was really smashed up, but the people are fine and just simply have...- acheron32

Important advice needed: new headphones for person suffering from Parkinson's!
Indeed, I definitely agree with that assessment and feel that it would have also felt very comfortable, too. What part of it boiled down to is this is a Christmas gift for our father, and my siblings preferred the Momentum partly because of the good price but mostly because they were able to...- acheron32

Important advice needed: new headphones for person suffering from Parkinson's!
I didn't realize the Best Buy just north of me actually had the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 as well as the Sony MDR-1A available and on display, as well as other products. I know that my ears are similar in size to his, but he has a larger head. He has borrowed the M-100s and they were...- acheron32

Important advice needed: new headphones for person suffering from Parkinson's!
I agree, i think he'd love the HD 598, but it seems it also needs to be a closed back headphone. Upon investigating, it seems the people he's around on a daily basis want the sound to be isolated when he's listening to it, and he also needs exterior sound to be minimal when he's listening to...- acheron32

Important advice needed: new headphones for person suffering from Parkinson's!
Hello, everyone! I've posted in here before, but i've always followed Head-Fi's forums and site regardless. For myself, I purchased an EL-8 open-backed headphone this year (3 or 4 months ago, I think) after inquiring on here about them. They were absolutely the best choice for me and...- acheron32

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
Fantastic! Good to hear that they are only selling the new ones. I'm glad I checked with you people first! I can read various reviews til i'm blue in the face, but if I can't get to a set in real life to hear it for myself, Head-Fi users are the next best thing, I think . I will buy them...- acheron32

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
It certainly sounds like the obvious choice is the new EL-8 Open for 2016. Tighter, more detailed bass is very much desired, but the better treble response would be huge for me. I do love the PM-3, don't get me wrong, but the descriptions of the EL-8 O treble sound much better. Personally, I...- acheron32

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
Well, yes I guess you could say that I was looking for something similar to the PM-3's sound signature. Upon re-thinking my previous postings, I would say that I am looking for which one is definitely better than the PM-3. I figured an open-back headphone was an obvious choice, since I plan on...- acheron32

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
Ahh okay. I've heard such varying items about the EL-8 headphones that I had a hard time making a choice. Steve Guttenberg's review of the Nighthawk, which he compared to the EL-8 with music that he heard in person as well, was intriguing to me. How he and others on these forums have...- acheron32

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
I've been scouring some of these pages the past few days to check out impressions of the updated Audeze EL-8 headphones. I see the bass response of the EL-8 Open seems to have improved, if i'm reading the postings right. I currently own the Oppo PM-3 and I do not plan on getting rid of it. I...- acheron32

Thinking of adding new headphones for home use--EL-8 or Z7?
Well I think I will keep on looking for now. I am intrigued by reviews of the Nighthawks, as well as the detailed explanations of what makes them unique. I may consider the Nighthawks as well.- acheron32
