Auris HA2 SF
No, you should not roll those tubes in place of the ECC82, in my opinion. But note that Auris Audio will respond to you direct from Serbia if you go to their home page and ask them.- Acesn8s

Auris HA2 SF
Wrong thread, as noted. But I own an HA2-SE and was advised by the factory to use either PL-95 (which they can supply) or EL-95 power tubes, always remembering to properly set the rear selector switch. And Auris agreed with me that a mil spec CV4003 is a good upgrade within the 12AU7/ECC82...- Acesn8s

Focal Clear headphones
The cans are identical except for their colorways. However, their wires are different and some claim to hear a difference between, say, the Clear Pro's coiled 5m cable and the basic Clear's 3m cable. Your mileage may vary!- Acesn8s

Focal Clear headphones
I just purchased a Clear Pro rather than a standard Clear because the colorway reminded me of an '80's Citroen 2CV Charleston and because I don't need a balanced cable but do require a >3meter wire. However, out of the box the Pro's coiled 5m cable is only usable for five feet or so before it...- Acesn8s

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
OPPO UDP-205 as Headphone Amp for AFC? I was lucky enough to score a now-discontinued UDP-205 universal disc player directly from OPPO, with delivery expected next week. Its headphone amp is directly connected to the ESS9038PRO DAC, and is rated at 590mW into 32ohm...which doesn't tell us...- Acesn8s

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
I hear more bass on the black felt than on the black foam, and less bass on the felt than on either of the white filters.- Acesn8s

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
The new tuning kit includes four pair of pads and rates them "in order from least dampening to most dampening:" Black foam 1 notch in white Black felt 2 notches in white. My AFC's came with what look like the Black foam, only. 'Hope this helps.- Acesn8s

AEON, MrSpeakers' New Closed Back Planar Magnetic Headphone
Yes and no. Got the kit last Friday and tried the 2 notch white first...listened for a full day and concluded that it overdampened the AFC and constricted the mid-range, to my ears. But I next installed the new black felts and fell in love: tighter bass, mid-range forward, smooth treble. 'Gonna...- Acesn8s

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)
As I referenced up-thread, Surf Cables in San Diego, California fabricated a balanced cable with dual Neutrik 1/4" connectors for my HiFiMan HE-500's, with less than one week turnaround. Surf is not at all "pricey"...an eight foot wire was $140 (US) delivered. FWIW, I had asked CablePro (which...- Acesn8s

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)
Great...'eager to hear your thoughts and, especially, the optimum settings you utilize. FYI re cans: Using the TEAC UD-503 as a 700mw balanced headphone amp requires balanced cans terminated with double TRS 1/4 inch connectors. A new cable manufacturer, Surf Cables, in San Diego, makes...- Acesn8s

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)
My UD-503 is installed within my main audio system, which is based upon an OPPO BDP-83SE universal player, a Unision Unico SE hybrid integrated amp and Scansonic MB-1 monitor loudspeakers. The TEAC is not used as a pre-amp and I use coax rather than optical from the OPPO to the dac. I sold...- Acesn8s

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)
I spoke with TEAC Customer Support in California twice today. After checking, the tech confirmed that my US-spec unit is not implicated in the Asian recall...no issue with analog input/mute button. In response to another question, he confirmed that the UD-503 can upsample PCM to quad...- Acesn8s
