Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Now here's some follow up review after approx. 30 hours burn-in: Boy aren't these Vidars beasts! The bass is so full and punchy, in a well controlled way, without overshadowing everything else. What I experienced before with the Marantz wasn't pleasing in this front. All of the harshness (just a...- Aaron Shi

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
So far I think it's a nice combo. Definitely better than the Marantz+Tannoy combo. I'll do more critical listening after a solid burn-in, and when my fiance is not at home... The Tannoys are picky when it comes to the room though... My room is 12' x 26' ish but the placement of the speakers are...- Aaron Shi

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I don't currently have a spare pair of RCA cables long enough to connect Freya to a single Vidar so didn't bother to check the performance of one Vidar. And based on what you have suggested, I don't think I'll ever want to find out! Thanks for the info.- Aaron Shi

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Here's my observations after approximately 10 hours playing time: 1. Bass is tighter and controlled. They are there when they need to be there. Never lost the power to push the punches out. 2. Vocal really shines! They sound sweet and fuller than the Marantz I had before. They remind me of my...- Aaron Shi

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I had my Tannoy XT 8F ran 2 hours straight driven by Vidars in monoblock. Listening position (7 ft away) measured around 80 dB. They didn't get that hot at all... Only warm to the touch... Tannoys are 91 dB efficient and 8 ohms...- Aaron Shi

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Black Vidars' been running for the last 2 hours at around 85 to 90 dB. Haven't done any critical listening. Just cycled through my list of music, They pack tremendous power! They were a bit bright at the beginning but getting better and better now. Mid is sweet and a warm. Bass is getting...- Aaron Shi

I agree with you not that because I was born in China, but you made a good point. I believe in globalization, and I believe that competition stimulates innovation. Bringing back 'simple' manufacturing jobs should not be the countries priority. Even China is trying to move away from...- Aaron Shi
