It’s a lot less loud and frequent than it used to be.

I just updated to the latest firmware version for the penrose. It’s so nice to be able to do it from a Mac now. Thank you for that Audeze. It definitely quitted down the whooshing sounds but I can still hear a little on the left side mostly.

So my question is why have two versions? If the penrose x works with PC, Xbox, Mac, and PlayStation. They could have had one that works with everything. There must be something else then.

Maybe I’m missing something again but my penrose x seem to work fine with my Mac mini. Others are saying the X works fine with PlayStation too. So what is the actual difference between them? Has anyone tried the regular penrose on a pc or Xbox?

Right so unless you want these specifically for gaming I’d say pass and get the Mobius. I guess I figured they’d be like the Mobius just without 3D audio but with wireless and an adjustable equalizer instead. I was mostly interested in the EQ but I can’t even adjust it from my iphone. I...

So apparently there’s another big thing I missed. They can’t play audio though the USB cable? What? Yea I’m kinda regretting the purchase at this point. I patiently waited since July for these. The Mobius is definitely a better headphone for all around use.

Yea it’s a bit disappointing. I know they’re $100 less than the Mobius (regular prices). But they shouldn’t be cutting out things like connection status and battery indication. :/

@Audeze Why isn’t there a battery indicator on the top bar of my iPhone like there is with the Mobius?

I tried it out and yea the noise is definitely less with the mic on mute (disconnected), but there’s still some weird background sounds. Neither of my Mobius has these sounds.

Oh I’ll have to look into that. I also only have an iPhone and Mac mini.

I’m not sure why but Audeze specifically says not to use a virtual machine for updates.

Exactly. It’s not like Audeze wants this. You you have to wonder if Audeze is even making any money trying to get these $250 headphones out. Probably not. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re actually losing money just trying to get into this gaming market. And now they get to deal will children...
