Just got a pair of these yesterday, working on burning them in still but I love them so far. I'm only coming from ipod headphones so it's a huge upgrade for me. The bass seems pretty good, not overpowering but you can hear it on songs that have a lot of it. I'm not so good at describing mids or...

I ended up ordering the denon c560R, even though there aren't many reviews on them. The amazon reviews seemed to be pretty positive, saying it's got a nicely balanced sound.    Really wanted to try the ie6 or a refurb ie7, despite not having a mic, but I figure the volume control will come...

I just wanted to bump this thread and get some more thoughts on this guy before taking a chance on the ie7. It's either ie7 from him, or ie6 new.

I haven't used them but the custom 3's get a lot of negative reviews for durability of the wires. $109 is only a good deal if it lasts lol.

anyone?   Since I'm sure someone will ask: My musical tastes vary from trance, metal, and rock, to classical, acoustic, or blues. I don't need them to be bass heavy, but I'd like more to be there than my ipod buds :P. I'd just like it to be pretty balanced. 

It's interesting that it's the commentators that have little to no hair that go with the IEM's(i.e sanders), a lot of those guys look like they put a half a can of hairspray into their hairdos, only to squish it down the middle with a headband from over the ear phones.   I guess it makes...

I noticed that too. Ben roethlisberger was also wearing some sort of IEM that also goes over the ear during his interview at half time.

I joined just to bump this old thread lol.  I have the exact same question.  I listen to pretty much everything except for rap.   So rock, metal, techno/trance, classical, acoustic, whatever.  Pretty wide variety of stuff.  I'll be listening mostly on my iphone and computer when studying...
