I hate being the impatient type. My NFB-12 isn't shipping for another 3 weeks. Should be a good pairing for my Lyr and HE-5s

My Lyr should be here tomorrow. A perfect pairing for my HE-5s. I'm currently driving them out of my Zero, which surprising somehow can actually drive them pretty well. Although, it definitely lacks in sound quality of what the HE-5s are capable of doing.

How does the bass compare to RE-2s? I picked them up since they are a steal at $29, but I was severely disappointed at the complete lack of bass.

I ordered some RCA 6BQ7As and am currently working out a deal on some Amperex Orange Globes. Although, I should probably be more impatient about the Lyr finally coming tomorrow.

I'm biased towards tube amps, although that's partly due to lack of ever owning a good solid state amp... at least until my NFB-12 gets here. I'm currently running my 650s through a Audiotailor Jade and Zero DAC. Zero was $178 and Jade was $275.  

So if Hifiman introduced the HE-500, is there a chance for HE-600?

Is there a big difference between 6BQ7A and ECC88/6922? There's such a difference in price it's hard to decide.
