Is the AD822 any good as an opamp? I'm building a portable cmoy, and I'm wondering if its better than the opa134. Does teh 822 need a buffer?

Never used this one, but no... not by itself.

It has about 1/8th the bandwidth & slew rate of the 823, and the same drive current. This doesn't say anything about how it'll sound, lots of chips with so-so specs sound good... but you'll need to buffer it for sure. Look at the graphs, this'll want much higher load than even the highest ohm headphone to perform well.
