Hi Everyone,

I've been around the forums for a while but haven't been active in the audio scene for quite some time. I know I'm way behind the curve regarding new stuff out there so looking for some help.

Hoping for suggestions/advice on closed headphones that can be easily drive (phone or ipod) that have good isolation and an overall fun sound signature. I'm honestly not too concerned if they are the most accurate or "true", I'm more interested in just enjoying the music, feeling my feet tap and wanting to sing along. I love feeling the music and being emotionally into it. I listen to everything from Kendrick Lamar to Adele to Chris Stapleton to Rage Against the Machine to Miles Davis.

Considering you don't need the sound to be "true" (You already have a HD600, right?), I saw these ASRJ Wooden Wireless Over-Ears with NC going for real cheap:

There is also a legendary AT ATH-A900 going for cheap on Amazon. Add some hybrid HM5 ear pads on them and you have a comfy classic:

I'd go for the 770/80ohm. Sounds almost as loud as the 32 version and the sound quality is a lot better/less sibilant - plus you get the comfort velour pads.

Oh man, just sold my ATH-A900's to a coworker after re-padding them last fall. Busted him into quality headphones and motivated me to finally upgrade... I had them for like 8 years! I will always be an AT fan and they were a supremely wonderful headphone.

I've got ATH-M50's at home now and can strongly recommend those but the 770's are super nice too, I spent some significant time listening to the DT-990's and almost jumped but opted to go for a closed back ultimately for my office. The weight and comfort of those coupled with a supremely wide sound-stage gave me a smile. Never spent time with the 770's personally nor the MSR7GM you mention (they look nice though).

I've owned the m50's in the past and found that I just couldn't get a good fit with them. Too tight and just rubbed my ears wrong. The Beyers I've owned in the past were very comfy so no worries on that for the DT770's

I have no idea how much a new denon mm400 is in your area. At this price range, I only had MSR7. I cannot tell more about the other two, but I can say MSR7 had pretty awesome sound, solid design and good isolation. However, I still suggest you directly go to Denon MM400, which is my new toy since I sold MSR7. My suggestion for closed back headphones(from cheap to expensive): q460, MM4000, shure 1540, flagships(depends on your taste). No need to waste money on closed-back in the same price level.
