Cardas Neutral Reference. Review and comments by the jude man himself:

Great price, and great sounding IC according to many, although I have no personal experience with them. Just passing along the info.

The Neutral References are just that, very neutral and unforgiving in my opinion. I have experience with:
  1. AudioQuest Vipers
  2. Zu Varials
  3. DH Labs BL-1 Silver Sonics
  4. Outlaw PCA
BTW, neutral and unforgiving in this case is a good thing.

They show up frequently on Audiogon for great prices. MSRP on a 1 meter pair is $500.00USD, but you can usually get them for around $300.00USD, sometimes a bit less.

I'm using the Neutral References as my only variety of interconnect, basically because of good reviews including Jude's and the fact that there's a lot of them out there, so they show up used on Audiogon quite often. I like them; they pass lots of detail.

I can get the neutrals for about US$150 for 0.5m.

Have you tried Golden Cross?
Its only a few bucks less than the neutrals.

Where do you get the .5m Neutrals for $150? I assume it's somewhere in Australia? Any idea if the company ships to the US? I've been looking for an inexpensive set of Neutrals.. but they're all ~$250...

Thanks!

The Golden Cross is supposedly quite a warm cable. Only go for it if you need warmth.

That's what we do best: spend others' money for them. Hope you enjoy the new ICs once you get them Ctn.

Hi.
I have the Neutral Reference interconnects. Best i've ever had (and I've been thru lots!).
Brutally honest however

If anything in your system sucks you're going to know it, it hides nothing.

If the NR is a little too "Real" for you, try the Cross instead, it's a bit more forgiving and richer.

from emails a year ago with them:

I do not have a web page as the cable I have is at half price and this deal is only for Australia. I am not allowed to have a web page or sell overseas.

but more importantly the cable are usually made from prototype stock thus although it shoud sound the same it does not have the same construction.

Bummer, how close is it to the real neutrals?
Is it a totally different cable altogether?

Has anyone compared the neutral reference to the golden reference?

I don't know ctn, I'd be careful.
Dealer price is more than that.
He's probably selling knock offs.
Either that or he's trying to loose money.
