192 kbs and 320 kbs, is there really a difference?
I could tell a vague, possibly psychological difference between 256 kbps CBR aac and ALAC, but that was on Dark Side of The Moon, an album which I have played so many times that the CD laser has burnt a hole through the disc.- Bobofthedead

Music Is Dead: iPods and Young People Have Utterly Destroyed Music
The amount that people on here recommend spending to newcomers astounds me sometimes. I came on here asking about a cheap pair of IEMs, I believe, and I was recommended Grados.- Bobofthedead

Any other (young) queen/beatles fans out there?
Hmm... Never shall I go to a concert of my favourite artist of choice. They're all dead or retired. Even Bowie's not doing anything, and he's the most alive artist I would see. On-topic though, the Beatles are most excellent although Queen I can take or leave. I used to like them, but then I...- Bobofthedead

Music Is Dead: iPods and Young People Have Utterly Destroyed Music
Has anyone considered that poor sound quality is not just a modern thing? Even a much-treasured vinyl pressing kept in an airtight vault for the past 20 years will sound crappy on a cheap-o record player, the sort that most could young'uns could afford back in your good old days. Anyone...- Bobofthedead

Exclusive BOSE system in the upcoming Chevy Volt
Uh, I'm sure many people here have portable rigs, why not use them with some open-backed headphones whilst you drive. Best of both worlds: you can still hear what's going on around you, and you can hear your music with the kit which you have become accustomed to.- Bobofthedead

Audio-Technica's First Triple-Driver IEM: ATH-CK100
Hmm... Sorry to go off-topic, but does anyone know about the frankly delicious looking FW5s in the third picture? I've been digging, and a pottery headphone intrigues me, but I can't find jack about the sound or fit, or pretty much anything, for that matter. Can anyone help?- Bobofthedead

My dog ate my IEMs.
Hmm... Have any people with dogs here actually considered walking said dog? If you walk 'em for an over hour a day or so, then they'll not be high enough to eat everything. Your audio purchases, your furniture and your other household goods will be saved!- Bobofthedead

M-Audio VS Bose - Which to get?
Hmm... If you're having static issues, then try the impedance adapter that came with your Super.fis. It looks like a female headphone jack (inny) with a short tube and a male headphone jack (outy) on the other end, and it adds resistance for the wire, making the headphone perform better with...- Bobofthedead
