The DAC1 doesn't even have an power switch, so I leave mines on 24/7.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned a pair of Dynaudios BM5a. I got a used pair from craigslist for $500. I don't have a DAC yet, just a pair of XLR to RCA adapters with a cable to my PC headphone jack and they sound wonderful. A nice step up from my A5s. Plus they don't look like toys. :P

I just got a pair of b-stock A5s from Audioengine's website earlier this week and they are beyond perfect. I expected some some scratches and maybe a nick or two as they described b-stock as fully functioning with cosmetic flaws, but I can't even find a scratch. All the cables came in new...

I'm about to send back an amp, but I'm not sure what the best method is for sending items from the US to China. It's about $13 to send it back via USPS Priority Mail International, and $60 for DHL. USPS promises 6-10 days, but I've heard that it can take up to a month with USPS, whereas DHL...

They sound great out of the box for me, so I don't worry about burn in. If it gets better over time, then that's even better.

Where did you get a copy? I can't find it.

I didn't notice a huge difference with my ibasso D3 and SR60s. The sound was slightly different, not really better.

I think it's the limitations of the earphones. Coming from headphones, I was slightly disappointed by my W3s. They didn't sound bad at all, but were not anywhere as near refined as my D5000s. But given the portability factor, I'd still choose my W3s over the headphones if I'm ever on-the-go.

Just called my local Radio Shack and they have a few in stock, so I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about.

I had to do a lot of ear-training when I took music theory, so my relative pitch is quite good. As long as I have a starting pitch, I can accurately notate non-overly complex music. It helps to know the key signature, but most of the time I'm able figure it out.

I would bet on the DAC. It's much easier to manage collections through the PC, so that's a pro as well (minus the time it takes to rip, of course).

The batteries aren't a huge issue. Get rechargeables. You'll probably only have to recharge once every 1-2 months.

You know, you didn't have to buy it if you thought it was too much...
