6SN7 Tube Addicts
Quote: One of the few European "6SN7" but that's too easy so: It's produced by RFT in former East Germany, most likely dealed as reparation payment for the Soviets. Those were mainly used in (portable) television receivers back those days. Very tough tube due to ceramic spacers...- baldux

Eddie Current Balancing Act
I wonder how the different negative grid voltage for PX4 and 300B bias point is adjusted, in case the rear switch only changes anode voltage and pin socket relation. Does the negative grid regulation been automatized by the circuit itself? Anyone knows?- baldux

Are replacement pads for R10s still available
Don't want to be offtopic but it's quite related and by the chance... How is the status at Sony US about Qualia earpads availability? Read in another thread they sent someone a replacement headband in another size by last year. So is there's still some hope for left pads too? One...- baldux

Where can i buy tubes for a tube clock
So about 1k$ on hand for one? No kidding, might be the actual going rate for them. These are just as rare as some NOS valves and used to have collector prices as well. Might be more realistic to look into 6 digits nixie clocks with e.g. nice russian IN-18 nixie tubes. -

K1000 bass heavy/light ... fact or fiction?
AKG indeed applied several physical changes during the years of their production run. At least there are three different runs known that can be seperated anyhow like: #0 <bh> ~3000(3500) <bh> ~(7500)9000 <bl> 12000 Changes affect diaphragm thickness and material, glue and glued parts...- baldux

Worst headphones you've ever heard? / Low-fi experiences?
The worst step if ever taken was going wireless with cans. Omg I can't believe I ever did that. In my case it was the RS 130. At latest when you are receiving the audiotrack of the tv show your neighbour is watching you know that something went wrong and unluckely I'm not kidding on that fact...- baldux

Desktop or Laptop? Any recommendations??
As student I can recommend you from my own experience to go for something portable like a lightweight laptop. Mine lasts over my whole student years and it was used quite hard every day. Ok, after 5 years it doesn't look that fresh but at least it worked.- baldux
