I have seen a few mentions of plans to try driving the 1266s with a Benchmark AHB2, but has anyone tried this combo?

I in no way mean this as a criticism but if you're finding the sound of the er4s to best the quads I'd try them with a few more sources. Having used the er4p for many years I love the way they sound and can see how they would sound more resolving and detailed out of a weaker source. However...

I have looked and looked but cannot seem to find a 4PDT rotary switch. Does anyone have any idea where I can find one? Preferably it would be a on/off/on switch. 

I currently have the multimeter I purchased at radioshack - the no frills $20-30 model.    Short of purchasing a much more expensive multimeter is there a good way to match resistors?

I switched my pending order for quads to the soft tips. They received everything on April 11th - delivery next week seems optimistic since I was still able to switch but I'll post with impressions when I receive them. 

I would imagine clinics, or audiology departments in medical schools that run a clinic staffed by grad students might be the best deal for impressions.

I haven't seen s pre-built pot with SMD resistors before on ebay. I've been looking for a good balanced pot but am not really sure if this falls into the good deal/ decent performance category or definitely not worth it. Any thoughts?  ...

My confusion was I misread the part description. Instead of balance pot I was thinking balanceD pot all along - so when a 2 gang pot arrived I wasn't sure why.   So clearly a balance pot would in no way be acceptable for use as a stereo volume pot. 

To clarify what is the difference between a balance pot and a stereo pot if they both only have 2 decks?
