Westone Phones and repair
I found this thread whilst searching for repairs for my um2. Westone recently did the same to me - told me that they would not repair the headphone even though I think it's fairly obvious that the problem is a design flaw. Instead they offered a "deal" on a new set of headphones for 299 dollars...- beeman

The heat issue does not disappear. Seeing as you have just got one and I have owned mine for a few weeks I thought I should let you k ow - so its still happening after 100hrs + playback! Its a known issue and if you google translate chinESE forums there is a mod that aims to reduce the heat...- beeman

No - but cue files don't play. It does not bother me as I play jazz / rock not really a dance music fan. Player is amazing though. Regarding converting to wave - flax converts realyy quickly in mediamonkey. Also probably worth noting that I'm using it with microsd in a minisd adaptor (32gb) so...- beeman

Aune M2 | AK4490 Dac | Class A amp | Dual Crystek USA Clocks |
i have recently bought the m1. i usuually use a sony mz-rh1 (line-out) topping amp. To be honest i prefer the m1 (no headphone amp). It has a neutral sound. Mids are warm - and seperation is excellent. I am aware of a very slight sibilance so need to pair with the right headphones - Paired with...- beeman

Obscure Chinese DAPs
this is why i just bought the m1. A discrete daughter dac amp board. This means that provided you have a solder and basic understanding of circuit boards you cam tailor the sound card to your specifications. Bravo Aune. which means even an idiot like me is able to have a go at diying.- beeman

Hi I also have a similar question about using the x3 but as a USB DAC. I have an old HiFi system - texhnixs 8077 integrated amp and I want to use my laptop as a source. I was about to buy the dragonfly USB DAC - but I am now thinking about using the x3 as a dedicated USB DAC. Does anyone have...- beeman

Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550
I used to own the westone um2s - relatively pricey iems - but i found the base to be muddy and not well defined (everything else was great). I really like the base of the senn hd25s and hopefully theses will have a similar nonboomy fast quality. i've read that the ex1000 cables improve treble -...- beeman
