    Woo 1 and K501

That really sucks as it was looking great and in my price range. I'll have to keep an eye on the for sale forum. I was also considering a gilmore lite, but at $90 more I thought it'd be worth trying a tube based amp for once.

    Woo 1 and K501

I'm not completely happy with my HS classic and 501 combo I want more of a warm lush sound. The Woo 1 would seem to fit the bill thanks to gsferrari's excelent review. It's lush warmer sound could be what the 501's asked for in terms of adding some bass impact. Also at the $390 price it fits...

Help newb get into Jazz... MS-1, K501...?

The K501's are great for jazz, but I think your amp may be the weak link in the chain with these. They take alot of juice and I don't know if your amp can properly drive them to give them the 'umph' particularly in the bass region.

    Sub for Headphones?

I think with open headphones it'd drownd out the sound. You'll never get the body shaking bass feeling that you get from a home theatre sadly. You could try something like the 'bass shakers' I don't know how well they work though I'm sure you could find something on head-fi about them.

    AKG K501 vs Sennheiser HD580

Because you listen mainly to rock/pop music I'd reccomend the grados. The K501's really can't rock at all. I own the K501 and a Headsave Classic and they just don't have the in your face slam that lends to a good rock headphone. Of course modern recordings don't help. Some of my favourite...

Anyone ever rewired a pair of K501s?

I sent you a PM inquiring about having you rewire my K501s. How much bass is added exactly?

Using a dp-u50 for an amp...

A headsave homevibe could do the trick, they're about $85. If you don't have that much you could get a go-vibe. www.headsave.com

    What to get next?

The classic is a great amp (I have one myself). For its price it's one of the best proformers out there.

    650s just came in!

They'd probably benifit alot more from a more powerful amp and/or source I don't know if the PCII has enough juice let alone the airhead to drive them to their fullest.

    Headsave classic and AKG K501's - a noob's impressions

Bill Ward Yeah I've been playing bass heavy music such as those maximum boom for your system CDs and there's more then enough bass. kiwirugby I agree whole heartedly they just keep getting better and better! I am using some slight EQ in foobar just to give the lower end a tad extra umph...

    Headsave classic and AKG K501's - a noob's impressions

Back Story I got some shure E3's last year/early this year. Shure (get it ha ha ha) they're great for portable use, but they just lacked that 'something'. After many hours of searching later this year I found the K501's at first I was turned off by their looks, but as time went on I realized...

    K501 left driver not working!

Help! My K501's left driver stopped working after setting them down for a few minutes to help my sister. When I came back the left driver wasn't working. I thought perhaps it was something to do with my chaintech so I promptly ran upstairs and hooked it into my receiver but to no avail! If I...

    Kinda disappointed with my HD-555s

First off the chaintech is great for music, but not for your games. It doesn't have the EAX support that your audigy does. I'd reccomend having both in your system possibly then using one for music and one for gaming.

    Affordable amp for HD555

You won't be able to get a classic till next year. As far as I know he stopped taking orders as of a few days ago. It should be more than enough to drive the HD555's.

    Headsave home-vibe or classic? Thanks

I ordered mine on Monday, I'm glad to know that I got in on the last few orders. He said he'd try to ship it out by week end, but he's extremely busy (I didn't get a conformation e-mail stating it was shipped) so I'm guessing it'll go out sometime before wed. next week. I'm itching for the...

The AKG K501's aren't the prettiest thing on the block, but I ordered them anyway.
