Yep, I was reading the 701/650/990 "class" thread -- and while reading it, I thought it begged the question, regarding the FOTM D2000's -- is the D2000 in the same class as 05 DT990? Or better, perhaps? My D2000's are still burning-in, but still haven't quite matched DT990 overall SQ....not...

Darth Beyer V3 in Cocobolo wood and 2 meter BlackMax cable. Just got them, and tried them right out-of-the-box. Now burning-in, though I can't inagine these cans actually getting better! The highs are there, without overwhelming. The mids are there, with great clarity -- lyrics easily...

I'm curious how a new Hornet would compare with the HeadRoom Micro amp, as far as sound quality, not features. Obviously, each has its own unique set of feature attractions. Anybody heard both?

The HeadRoom Micro DAC specs say it handles 96kHz/24-bit input. Since the specs on my portable Panasonic DVD player (LS-91) says it outputs 192 kHz/24-bit, will the Micro DAC work with it? Or do I need a DAC that specifically says 192kHz?
