I'm waiting for a pair of FXD80. What portable source you can recommend for them? I'm thinking of getting smartphone so SGS I with voodoo or used iPhone 4. Do they match good with these phones?

I don't need bass to be monstrous and overpowering other frequencies. Just to have some body, impact, nice presence and goes deep.

Is bass punchy and groovy enough to handle dubstep, dnb and other bass oriented music. My source is Sony X.

I recommend Shure Yellow Foams. They work great with Atrios.

So I undertstand that more neutral Rain are better choice for rather warm Sony X?

It's really depends of what's your source. edit: For me Sony DAP + IE 7 is great combo not only for dubstep!

IMHO Atrio doesn't sacrifice mids and highs and if you are looking for smth similar to your DT-770 I think it's a best choice at this price range.

idn'tk I'm nearly in the same situation as you and I think that Sennheiser IE7 will be a perfect choice. You can also try Head-Direct Re1, they does well with Sony DAPs but are hard to drive (~24/30 volume level to mountain desired effect).

Yes. Sorry if my english isn't correct.

Head-Direct Re1 They sound pretty good with Sony DAPs, although they are hard to drive (about 24/30 volume level to mountain desired effects). From what I know there is no synergy between SE530 and Sony DAPs.

SA6 is armature too. Personally I prefer good dynamic drivers instead of armature, they have for me more natural sound and wider soundstage.

I'm still waitin for a pair of mine - they should come in few days.

Maybe recabling with APS cable?

For cold iPod I'd reccomend warm IEMS like FS Atrio or Klipsch Image X10.

I found Atrio rather muddy than harsh with Clip
