PC noise issues with multiple sound devices / DACs but not with DAW?
Like I posted before - try the USB isolator. The Topping should work. Or replace the DAC with balanced output or a better engineered USB input.- yage

PC noise issues with multiple sound devices / DACs but not with DAW?
The isolator will probably help - I'd try that first.- yage

DC, VA, MD Areas Head-Fi Up Coming Meet At Burke Centre Library On 2/17/2024
Hi all - I noticed that some of you listened to the Benchmark DAC3 HGC. Here are a few things that I didn't mention during the meet: I set the DAC3 to HT mode which basically maxes out the digital volume and turns it into a fixed output DAC. You can tell if HT mode is enabled if the LED to the...- yage

Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20kHz good enough?
Unless you're less than about ten years old, you probably won't be able to hear 20 kHz. I tested the limits of my kids' hearing and my ten year old's upper limit is already ~18 kHz. If you can hear less than 20 Hz on headphones, most likely it's second or third order distortion that's playing...- yage

Need to confirm a suspicion.
Ok - you can try a free DAW or download OBS Studio and and set the monitoring device to the Maxwell. There will still be a delay (latency) but maybe it's acceptable to you. Here's a tutorial for OBS Studio - Hopefully this covers what you're trying to do.- yage

Need to confirm a suspicion.
Are you using a DAW to process / record the audio? EDIT - I ask because there might be a way to have the PC set to output audio to the interface while recording from your mic but then using the DAW to monitor using the Maxwell's dongle. Bluetooth will most likely introduce some noticeable...- yage

What does your setup look like? Is the interface recording your voice?- yage

Need to confirm a suspicion.
The Maxwell comes with a low latency dongle that doesn't use Bluetooth. You want to use that if interfacing with a PC as that's lossless. Don't use the 3.5 mm aux input. It sounds terrible.- yage

Closed Backs for Travel
I didn't have any pain from the Ety's but I also didn't leave them in for more than an album's worth of songs. Try the different sizes / types and see what's most comfortable for you. I used the large triple flange but a friend preferred Comply foam eartips. The rubber eartips seal really well...- yage

Closed Backs for Travel
Personally, I would go for something like an Etymotic IEM. The body is small enough that it will fit basically any ear opening. They're also deep insertion which means the isolation is equivalent to that of an earplug or ANC. I've traveled with them before and they're much more portable than...- yage

Anyone use TWS on PC? Looking for balance between 'Sound & Latency'
The Razer Hammerhead non-Pro Hyperspeed claims 60 ms latency. Might be worth a shot. The dongle is a must for gaming in my experience though. Personally, I prefer headsets because parts can be replaced when broken (e.g. mics) or used up (e.g. batteries).- yage

I wouldn't let the price fool you. The K371s sound exceptional. Personally, I think they're really only outclassed by the DCA Stealth.- yage

Well, I got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I just received a response from Harman. Here's the bad news: So, no, you can't get them directly from AKG / Harman. I really don't understand why they elected not to have spare parts for these headphones if they're considered...- yage

AKG K361/K371
I I'm not sure what you mean by 'AKG global'. If you click the link labeled 'Parts' at the bottom of AKG.com, the address is 'parts@harman.com' so I sent them a message. Hopefully I'll get a different response than through AKG support.- yage

I contacted AKG support and they said they don't stock them. They do stock the K371-BT pads though for some reason. Their advice was to ask for an RMA if within the warranty period. If not, you're out of luck.- yage

Will my AMP be enough to drive a Dan Clark Expanse headphone?
Use this - https://www.headphonesty.com/headphone-power-calculator/ Estimate your average dB SPL using pink noise then plug into the calculator. Leaving the values as-is on the website - yes, your amp should make the cut.- yage

It sounds like the USB interface on the Bifrost is going bad so a streamer may not fix your problem. Have you tried giving it to a friend to test on a Windows machine?- yage
