My Liquid Platinum amp journey
The winner, IMO, for LP pairing are the WE 396A and Brimar 2C51. They sound very close to each other.- glitch39

My Liquid Platinum amp journey
I would like share my current journey with my Liquid Platinum amp. Got this amp new. First tube I rolled was a pair USN-CEP 6922. Nice improvement from the stock tubes, but I was not completely happy with them for some reason - they sounded great but the wow factor was not there on this amp...- glitch39

Monoprice Monolith Liquid Platinum - By Alex Cavalli
I have tried the Western Electric 403B with adapters on the LP and it matched very well with the warm nature of the LCD3. I really like the flexibility of tube rolling on this amp. But I do have to pay to play. Maybe I should now unsub also.... :relaxed:.- glitch39

Monoprice Monolith Liquid Platinum - By Alex Cavalli
I did use Mullard 12AU7 + adapters on my LP. Those British tubes do know how to play jazz and vocals. Great match with the neutral signature of the Arya. It made the LP more "liquid" , IMO. Call it Monolith Liquider Platinum- glitch39

Balanced DAC/AMP with EQ preamp?
Stay SE from DAC to your EQ/pre. If you really want a balanced amp, there are some that will accept SE inputs and internally convert to balanced then amplify- glitch39

Zapfiltered Zhaolu 2.5A - an oldie but goodie
The Zhaolu came in two flavors - 2.5C and 2.5A. I prefer the 2.5A as the more musical version. YMMV. ripped out the head amp and analog section. It now houses separate PSU's for DAC and analog stage. upgraded the resistors on the zapfilter shunt PSU from 5W to 20W the 2.5A is balanced from...- glitch39

Monoprice Cavalli Liquid Platinum technical measurements
thanks, @atomicbob . Very, very detailed technical review. Given we'd already heard (or read) of the sonic reviews, this makes me think the Cavalli LP is a winner. Too bad Monoprice is jacking up pricing because of the positive reviews- glitch39

problem with sale of headphones
guys, this was my sale. Been busy due to work, so I was unable give some of my free time responding to PM's, and leave positive feedback...... regardless, I have informed Gibby that it was my fault for not realizing that the shipment I got was incomplete to begin with. So I posted the ad with...- glitch39

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I have tried both Brainwavz HM5 hybrids and angled (pleather) IMO, they both provide more comfort (larger inner ear opening) and larger soundstage (thicker pads, my ears sit farther away from the drivers). To me, angled has more bass and slam. It also mimics the OEM pads better. The...- glitch39

Not really. It does not have the tube bloom EC is known for but it is for sure warm sounding for an SS amp. Great match with the HE, which can sound tizzy on some SS gear. 5 stars on this combo.- glitch39

in the members set up area, there was an HE-6 plugged in to an Eddie Current amp which sounded amazing! The amp was maxed out for sure due to the HE-6 (in)efficiency, but man, do they sing. also interesting to see that the cans were naked (no grille, no inner lining), but it totally...- glitch39

Recommend me a CS4398 DAC, (coming from a EMU1212M)
This DAC started life as an "upgraded" D2.5A Zhaolu. I have compared 2.5A and 2.5C and preferred this version for its musicality. It was around $225 back then if recollection serves me right. From the DAC board, the Zhaolu provides balanced digital outs. I then purchased the zapfilter II from...- glitch39
