    The best Headphone Amp under 1000usd

    I am looking to get an amp soon, budget is 1000usd and not sure which one to go for. Currently have the RS1 and CD3000 but may get the T1 or HD800. I dont need the amp with DAC as I will get the DAC on its own. Mainly listen to Pop and classics, hope you guys could help me out.

    Why is there no big improvement in SQ?

    I have got a hornet recently, then I was using toshiba F60 and the sony portable CD player as the source. The toshiba is rockboxed and all the music is in Flac. I use the line out jack on the dock station which comes with the player.My earphones are ER4s however my new cables are just on the way...

    Real line out?

    I have got a sony D-NE900 portable CD player but I am able to adjust the volume when I am using the line out jack connecting to an amp. This makes me thinking if it's a real line out. Could anyone help explain that?
