I have far less favorable review of this headphone.   First off, the beryllium only appear on the center of the driver cone, I don't think it even covers close to 1/2 of the total surface area, of course, PET film throughout, just the center section is coated with our favorite toxic metal...

Not sure if anyone posted about this before, but I removed the circular foam on top of the driver grill.  I didn't really do an A-B comparison on the difference, but I find that I quite like the vocals after the foam is removed.   Is anyone doing the same thing as well?

No, they don't work like that.  Each transformer is needed per channel, so you will still need two transformer, no matter if you want to use headphone only or speaker only.  Also, I'm not sure about the transformer's configuration, and one with the fitting spec might not be so easily found...

What do you mean by taking out the stereo output?  Where do you plan to tap it?

White one with brown ends.   Just tap them with something hard, I use my ring (platinum) and it will sound a bit like two pebbles hitting one another, and that's ceramic.  Plastic will sound dull.

I also got one just for kicks, since it is really not expensive... As is unmodified, it is a bit on the clouded/muddy sort of sound, not very clear/sharp.  It does have good punch, but it really need to work on the detail side of things.   I've so far modded the input tube to take 12AX7...
