Pioneer SP-BS22-LR...designed by Andrew Jones. Best bang for buck passive desktop speakers in their price range, imho...You really do get quite a lot for your money. Likewise. Can't wait to check out all the great gear & pick up a few tips from experts like yourself. I'm bringing a musician buddy of mine who's visiting from Switzerland. He loves high end audio and is also an excellent drummer. Should be awesome!- roll-man

Jumping on the bus a bit late here, but I have always wanted to attend a meet. Please count me + 1 in if possible. Will be heading over from Berkeley. Will bring a few pocket sized items, but don't need any table space. Hope there's room. Really looking forward to it!- roll-man

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
I joined head-fi in 2001. At the time, I had a pair of Senn HD580's, Koss Porta-Pro & Grado SR60's...I rounded out my little collection with JMT Altoids, Porta Corda & Total BitHead amps. At the time, Ety's were the only IEM people talked about. They were the best of the best. So, when the time...- roll-man

hey, thanks very much for your response...i think the emo is a winner. As much as I'd love the oppo, recabling my senns & getting an rsa to xlr has pushed the budget. Hornet vs. SR-71...Help!
Hey Everyone, I've been away from this board for awhile and it seems that both of these Ray Samuels portable amps have created quite a stir. My current set up is an iRiver hp120, ety er4p w/4s converter cable and a 1st generation total bithead. Although I own a number of other cans & stuff...- roll-man

Best Shostakovich recording?
big ditto on the string quartets...Borodin or Emerson (I have both complete sets). Let's not forget Symphony #4 either. That one was held back for many years due to the whole Soviet political thing. It certainly presents itself as dark, stormy & turbulent. Truly excellent. -

Behringer HA4700 headphone amplifier
This topic comes up every so often...About 3 years ago, I bought a Berhringer HA 4400 Powerplay 4 channel amp on ebay, new, for about $50. I bought it as sort of an experiment. As we know, people around here spend hundreds if not thousands on amps...I figured I would see if there was thousands...- roll-man

Take a deep breath....it's so easy to let emotions carry you away to the point of either throwing the product or yourself out the window. I'm sure your expectations were so high and you were so looking forward to being blown away, that the dissapointment is magnified. Those Senns definitely...- roll-man

Gloco - one could argue that not being satisfied with the performance constitutes "something truly wrong with the item", besides with Amazon, it's all done through the mail so "dragging myself back" is less of a concern.... I think Amazon's policy is a bit looser here in the states. A buddy of mine bought a portable DVD player, used it for 3 weeks while on vacation in Europe and then returned it with no problem: Taken from the amazon Website: Our Returns Policy You may return most items sold by Amazon.com...- roll-man
