Sony MDR-1000X
As one of the original "Creakers," I cannot fully express just how wrong you are. This is an intermittently appearing (among various individual headphones) PHYSICAL variable consisting of a plastic on plastics contact. Unless you've actually heard it, please explain how you came to this...- bthall

Sony MDR-1000X
Many of us have had the "MDR-1000x creak" issue. I believe it is important to make Sony aware of this manufacturing issue. A call to Sony tonight told me to direct this problem to: Community.sony.com I have started a thread there and would like others to please join in. Thanks, BarryT- bthall

+1 on creaking noise bad enough to cause me to return these otherwise wonderful headphones. BarryT- bthall

I returned mine unfortunately for exactly the same problem. Sure liked these cans, but the accompanying noise is untenable. BarryT- bthall

Sony MDR-1000X
For those that have the opportunity to compare, I'd be very interested in comments on the relative cup sizes of the QC35 vs. the MDR-1000x. I've biggish ears, and from pictures of each one, the Bose appear significantly more generous. Thx, BarryT- bthall

Anyway, that what the US Bose site said...not really all that important, is it? I do look forward to your comments on the comfort of the new Sony vs. the Bose. Thx. BarryT- bthall

Ultrasone Signature DJ
I love my Edition 8's except for one little thing: they are a bit "harsh" in the uppers. Which of the Signature's (DJ or PRO) would be the closest to giving me it all: The Edition 8 sound with a just of bit of high end "taming?" Barry T- bthall

Quote: Quote: Great answers, and I appreciate. Still on the fence, so next question would be COMFORT. The ED8 earcups are almost (but not quite too small for my ears. Would one or the other (SPro vs. SDJ) offer more comfort and/or a larger earcup? And thanks again, Barry T- bthall

Ultrasone Signature DJ
I have Ed8's and love the sound, BUT the high's are actually painful to me on louder passages. I drive them both without an amp and with an E17. I'm thinking of a "side slide" to either an SPro or an SDJ to keep the lows and mids, but to tame the highs. I need some opinions on which I might be...- bthall

Is the ultrasone edition 8 the right headphone for me?
Are the earcups of the Edition 8's larger, smaller, or equal in size to the Senn Momentums? Thanks, BarryT- bthall

What portable, circumaural, closed cans would have a signature sound most like the HE-400's?
The title says it all... Cost is not an issue, comfort could be. Thanks, BarryT- bthall

UE-700 and earbuds
Does anyone know if there are any 2 or 3 flanged earbuds (like those on the Ety's) that will fit the UE-700? I'm looking for the absolute maximum amount of isolation obtainable with these IEM's. Thanks, bthall- bthall

Different mods for tri-flange plugs...
Like to hear details about different modifications possible, and users experiences with, tri-flange ear plugs. Specifically I'm considering using tri-flanges to improve my isolation (which isn't very good w/ the new black foams) on my Shure E500's. Thanks in advance to all. BarryT- bthall

Auto-off on amps?
I love to fall asleep with my ipod, SuperMacro IV, and E500's playing at night. Both the ipod and SuperMacro IV offer the great feature on turning themselves off after a certain time period. Are there any other amps that offer this great feature? Thanks, BarryT- bthall

E500's in the Hands of an everyday Joe...
Well into day 2 w/ the new E500's, I have another comment to make. First, nothing has changed much from my 1st day impressions, although I find all the cables to and from the PTH a bit complicated. What I have really learned new in the last day or two is the true meaning of the word...- bthall
