Hi EKepa, nice to see some people playing with this vintage DAC  yes I think the 18v is for opamps but you should consider the Lampizator mod http://lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/REFERENCES/AH DAC/AHDAC.html it brings this DAC to another level. I connected my tube output stage from the...- zaccio

I was completely satisfied with my LITE DAC60 modified and improved http://www.head-fi.org/t/740362/lite-dac60-pcm1704-r2r-tubed-dac-mod-project One day the right channel of the DAC60 stopped working. Yes the Russian 6N23P are also military tube and very strong. They work in my DAC60 and Project PRE BOX RS (also 2x 6N23P) On-off 2x per day since more than 1 year without any issues. With my previous mhdt Havana my NOS Bendix 2c51 broke after only 8 month. I replaced with WE 396A (very nice tube).- zaccio

Hi Luckbad, the Pagoda is more close to DAC60 with the PCM1704. As former owner of the Havana (completely modified) I find the completely modified DAC60 goes further than the Havana (better bass, more air, more 3D...) but the Havana is very nice DAC.- zaccio

Yes the board is welded on the DAC board with 0,8mm∅ pure silver (10cm long, difficult to be more direct and beat any spdif cable!). NDK SD are nice but Crystek CCHD are better and the ultra low noise voltage regulator specially the 3,3v (clock) improve a lot as much the Crystek- zaccio

Yes, I definitively prefer tube DAC, two of my friands have Weiss DAC with very expensive setup but frankly my DAC60 is much more "musical" and I'm sorry for her that they can't understand what is "musical" because for her my DAC is too cheap to sound good One day if I'm $$$ I would modify...- zaccio
